Throughout the world there are millions of voluntary first-aid workers trained by National Societies to assist the armed forces medical services in the event of armed conflict. This brochure will help those volunteers to know their duties and their rights. It presents in simple and clear terms the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and sums up the main aspects of international humanitarian law, with emphasis on the rules applicable to first-aid workers.
