Ref. :

Some weapons continue to maim and kill long after fighting has ended. Every year, landmines, cluster munitions and other explosive remnants of war claim the lives and limbs of thousands of men, women and children, in addition to causing psychological trauma and economic hardship. These weapons make vital activities such as farming hazardous for years – even decades – after a conflict has ended, and obstruct relief and reconstruction efforts.
