Description

This study presents the main aspects of ICRC action and thought, as well as the features which distinguish it from other organizations pursuing humanitarian aims. Against the backdrop of events that have shaken the world since 1859, the author retraces the development of the Movement, of the ICRC's tasks and of international humanitarian law, and ends with a chapter devoted to the prevention of war.
